Technical Support That Actually Helps

Isla Pemberton, Platform Support Lead

We've learned that technical barriers shouldn't prevent anyone from improving their financial literacy. Most of our students are surprised by how accessible our platform is — you don't need the latest computer or blazing-fast internet to succeed.
"I regularly help students who thought their older laptops wouldn't work. We've designed everything to run smoothly on devices that are several years old, because we know that's the reality for many Australian households managing tight budgets."

Computer and Device Requirements

Minimum System Requirements

  • Desktop, laptop, or tablet with screen size 9 inches or larger
  • Operating system: Windows 10, macOS 10.14, iOS 12, Android 8, or newer versions
  • 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended for smoother performance)
  • 2GB available storage space for offline materials
  • Processor: Any dual-core processor from 2016 or newer

What This Means in Practice

Most computers purchased after 2017 will work perfectly. If you're using something older, don't worry — we've had students successfully complete courses on 2014 MacBooks and Windows machines from 2015. The key is having enough RAM and a stable internet connection.

Internet Connection Specifications

Connection Speed Requirements

  • Minimum: 5 Mbps download speed for video content
  • Recommended: 10 Mbps for optimal streaming and interactive exercises
  • Upload speed: 1 Mbps minimum for assignment submissions
  • Data usage: Approximately 2GB per month for active participation

Australian Internet Considerations

We understand that internet speeds vary significantly across Australia. Our platform automatically adjusts video quality based on your connection. For rural areas with limited bandwidth, we provide downloadable materials and mobile-optimised content that works well on 4G connections.

  • Mozilla Firefox 88 or newer

Learning Support Tools

Our platform includes built-in note-taking, bookmark features, and progress tracking that work across all supported devices. Students can switch between their phone, tablet, and computer while maintaining their learning progress and personal notes.

Mobile Learning Options

Mobile App Requirements

  • iOS 12 or newer for iPhone and iPad
  • Android 8.0 or newer for smartphones and tablets
  • 2GB available storage for app and offline content
  • Camera access for document scanning features
